The main exception is the Bonifacio - Santa Teresa Gallura route. As this is a very short crossing, there are no cabins on board, but you can still book airline-style seats in the air-conditioned lounges or choose a deck-lounge ticket.

How much luggage is allowed on the ferries?
Each ferry company has its own luggage policy, so we recommend checking the relevant rules before you travel:
- On Moby Lines ferries, there are no specific limits on the weight or dimensions of your luggage.
- With Corsica Ferries, you can bring 1 piece of hand luggage free of charge, as long as it does not exceed 200x100x50 cm.
- With Ichnusa Lines, 1 piece of hand luggage up to 150x50x25 cm is included free of charge.
Amenities for people with disabilities
Ferries from Corsica to Italy offer accessible services for passengers with disabilities and PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility).

Can I travel with my pet?

Here’s some useful information about each port:
- Port of Bonifacio: ferries to Santa Teresa Gallura depart from the ferry terminal in the commercial port area (Quai Sott, Portigliola quay). The port is located just a short walk from the town centre and can be reached on foot in around 20 min or by car in 5 min. Several car parks are available nearby.
- Port of Ajaccio: the capital of Corsica is located in the south-west of the island. The port is just a short walk from the railway station, and is also easy to reach by car (5 min) or on foot (15 min). Ajaccio Airport is well connected to the port by bus (line 8) and is only around 20 min away by car.
- Port of Propriano: overlooking the Gulf of Valinco on Corsica’s south-western coast, Propriano is both a commercial and tourist port. It is located just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, with bars, restaurants, accommodation, vehicle hire services and taxis available nearby.
- Port of Bastia: located in the heart of the city, Bastia’s port area is divided into 2 sections: the Old Port and the commercial port. Ferries to Italy depart from the commercial port, where you’ll find bars, restaurants and car hire services.
- Port of L’Île-Rousse: located in the north-west of Corsica, this small port is the main gateway to the Balagne region.
How to get to the Corsican ports with ferry connections to Italy?
All Corsican ports with ferry connections to Italy are easy to reach, both by car and by public transport.
Port of Ajaccio
- By car: if you’re arriving from the north of Corsica, take the T20. From the south, take the T40. If you’re coming from the north-west, follow the D81 coastal road. Once in town, follow the signs for Port de Commerce or Môle Croisière.
- By bus: local bus line 5 connects various parts of the city with the port area.
- By train: from the railway station, the port can easily be reached on foot in around 5-10 min.
- By plane: Ajaccio Airport (AJA) is only 7 km from the port. Bus line 8 reaches the terminal in around 20 min. Alternatively, you can take a taxi.
Port of Bonifacio
- By car: if you’re arriving from the west, take the T40. From the east, follow the T10 along the eastern coast.
- By bus: if you’re travelling from Ajaccio, you can use local buses operated by Eurocorse (usually 2 daily services, with more departures in July and August). Bonifacio bus station is located in the port area, so you’ll arrive close to the ferry terminal. From other towns, a change is often required in major hubs such as Ajaccio, Bastia or Porto-Vecchio, depending on the active routes.
- By train: Bonifacio is not connected to the railway network.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Figari Sud Corse, around 20 min by car from Bonifacio town centre. You can also use the LB bus line.
Port of Propriano
- By car: if you’re arriving from the west, take the N196 southbound. From the south, follow the N196 northbound towards Propriano / Ajaccio. From the east/south-east, take the N198, turn onto the D859 towards Figari, continue on the N196 towards Propriano, then follow the D196 towards the town centre/commercial port. If you’re arriving from the north, continue south across the island until you join the N196.
- By bus: Propriano can be reached by several bus routes, depending on your point of departure.
- By train: Propriano does not have a railway station.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Figari Sud Corse, around 50 min by car from Propriano town centre.
Port of Bastia
- By car: from central Corsica via Corte, take the T20. If you’re travelling from the south/south-east, follow the T10 northbound. From the north, take the T30 and then the T20. To reach Bastia town centre and the port area, continue on the T11.
- By bus: there are several intercity bus lines connecting Bastia with other destinations, with timetables varying significantly between summer and the low season.
- By train: Bastia is connected by rail to Ajaccio and Corte. The railway station is near the port and the terminal can be reached on foot.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Bastia-Poretta (BIA), around 20 km from the city. Bastia town centre can be reached by shuttle service or local bus.
Port of L’Île-Rousse
- By car: from the north-east, follow the T11, then the T20 and T30 to reach L’Île-Rousse. From the west/south-west, take the T20 and then the T30. If you’re travelling from Calvi / Balagne, follow the local coastal road.
- By bus: in Balagne and northern Corsica, there are bus connections to L’Île-Rousse, with variable frequencies, usually more convenient in summer.
- By train: the Corsican railway network (CFC) connects L’Île-Rousse with Bastia and Calvi.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Calvi Sainte-Catherine (CLY), around 24 km from L’Île-Rousse.
Where does the ferry arrive in Italy?
Ferries from Corsica arrive at several key ports in Tuscany, Liguria and Sardinia.
Ports in Tuscany
- Livorno: the Port of Livorno is one of Tuscany’s main ferry hubs. Ferries arrive at Calata Sgarallino quay. The area is well served, with bars, restaurants, hotels and car hire services nearby. Several paid car parks are available near the port entrance.
- Piombino: ferries arrive at Piazzale Premuda quay in the port of Piombino Marittima, located less than 2 km from the town centre and easy to reach on foot.
Ports in Liguria
- Genoa: ferries from Corsica arrive at the Piazzale Iqbal Masih ferry terminal. The port is easy to reach thanks to private parking facilities, the metro and bus connections linking the port area with the city centre. Just a short walk from the main quay, you’ll also find a shopping centre with shops, food outlets and a supermarket.
- Savona: there are 2 main ports here: Palacrociere and Vado Ligure. Ferries arriving from Corsica dock at the Port of Vado Ligure, located around 10 km south of Savona town centre. In the port area, you’ll find a free shuttle service and paid parking.
Ports in Sardinia
- Santa Teresa Gallura: located close to the town centre, the small port of Santa Teresa Gallura is served by shops, bars, restaurants and hotels.
- Porto Torres: ferries arrive at the passenger terminal. In addition to shops, bars, restaurants and ticket offices, the port also offers a free shuttle service for passengers. The port is close to the town centre.
- Golfo Aranci: the port is well connected to the town centre, with plenty of services and shops in the area. The railway station also links Golfo Aranci with other towns and cities in Sardinia.
