Where to take the ferry from Amalfi to Positano

Ferries and hydrofoils to Positano generally set sail from Molo Cassone in Amalfi, located at the eastern end of the Amalfi seafront. The port is about a 10-min walk from the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea, passing along the town’s promenade.

At the port, you’ll find cafés, restaurants and a few shops, as well as ticket offices, bus stops, and taxis, making it easy to reach from anywhere in Amalfi.

How to get to the port of Amalfi

  • By bus: SITA Sud buses connect Amalfi with Salerno, Sorrento, Positano, and Naples. The bus terminal is in Piazza Flavio Gioia, just a short walk from the pier.
  • By train: there is no train station in Amalfi. You need to travel to Salerno or Vietri sul Mare and continue to the pier by ferry or SITA bus.
  • By plane: the nearest airport is Naples Capodichino Airport, around 75 km away. From there, you can reach Amalfi by seasonal direct bus (April-October), private transfer or taxi.

Ferries from Amalfi typically arrive at the main pier in Positano, located directly on Marina Grande beach, the town’s central seaside area. From here, you can get to the center of Positano in just a few minutes on foot.
