Where to take the ferry from Spain to Tangier

You can travel to Tangier in Morocco from the ports of Algeciras and Tarifa.

• Ferries to Tanger Med set sail from the main port of Algeciras, which is on the western side of the Bay of Algeciras (or Bay of Gibraltar) and opposite the Rock of Gibraltar. The port is within walking distance of the city center and only a few minutes by car or taxi from the main train and bus stations.
• Ferries to Tangier Ville depart from Estación Marítima at the port of Tarifa, which is about 25 km southwest of Algeciras. You can easily reach the port by car, taxi or on foot, as it is about a 5-min walk from the Medina.

Where does the ferry arrive in Tangier?

Ferries from the Spanish ports in Andalusia arrive either at Tangier Ville or Tanger Med.

• Ferries from Tarifa typically dock at the port of Tanger Ville, located on the western edge of the harbor within the city of Tangier. The port is well-equipped with cafés, waiting areas, ticket offices and parking lots nearby. The historic old town is about a 15-min car ride from the port.
