Where to take the ferry from Marseille to Tangier

Ferries to Tangier depart from the port of Marseille Porte Chanterac (Gate 1), located not far from the city center and close to the Terrasses du Port shopping center.

How to get to the port of Marseille

• By car: if you are driving from nearby cities such as Aix-en-Provence or Toulon, simply follow signs for “Port” and “Porte Chanterac.” Several paid parking facilities are available nearby, including long-stay options for ferry passengers.
• By public transport: you can take tramway line T2 and get off at the Arenc-Silo terminus, which is within walking distance of the port. Alternatively, take metro line 2 and get off at Joliette station. If you are arriving at Marseille Saint-Charles train station, you can reach the pedestrian access to the port directly via tube line 2.
• On foot: if you’re staying in the city, the ferry terminal is about a 20-30 min walk from the Old Port area.

Where does the ferry arrive in Tangier?

Ferries from Marseille arrive at Tanger Med Port, in the northern part of Morocco and about 40 km from the city of Tangier.

You can reach Tangier in less than 1 hr by car or taxi and in more than 2 hr by bus. A public bus operated by ALSA runs between Tanger Med (Port Tanger Med - Dalia/Diki stop) and Tangier city (Gare Ferroviaire / Ksar Diyafa area). If you wish to leave your vehicle, there are 2 public parking lots in the port area.
