Ferry from Salerno to Sorrento

Where to take the ferry from Salerno to Sorrento?

Normally, ferries of NLG depart from Molo Manfredi at the port of Salerno, while those of Coast Lines depart from Molo Concordia. The two piers are a 20-min walk from each other.

We always recommend checking the exact departure pier with the company you are traveling with, as it may vary.

Useful info: Molo Manfredi is also home to the famous shell-shaped maritime station designed by architect Zaha Hadid, as well as to various pubs, pizzerias, megastores, and boutiques of all kinds.

How to get to the port of Salerno

• By car: if you’re arriving from the north, take the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway, exit at Vietri sul Mare and continue for around 4 km toward Salerno city center. From the south, take the A2 Reggio Calabria-Salerno motorway and exit at Salerno Centro. There are several paid parking lots near Piazza della Concordia.
• By train: this is the most convenient option, as the pier is just a 5-min walk from Salerno train station. Once you leave the station, simply cross the road and head toward the seafront in the direction of Piazza della Concordia.
• By bus: city bus lines 5 and 6 stop near Piazza della Concordia.
• By plane: if you’re flying in, the nearest airport is Naples International Airport (Capodichino) (NAP). To reach the port, you can take the Alibus shuttle to the train station (around 15-20 min) and continue by train, or opt for a direct private bus or taxi.

Where does the ferry arrive in Sorrento?

Ferries from Salerno arrive at Marina Piccola, which is the main port of Sorrento. The port is located just below the historic center and the popular Piazza Tasso, which can be reached in about 10-15 min on foot.

Keep in mind though that there are uphill streets and stairways, so you can also use the local buses and elevators that connect Marina Piccola with the upper town. Alternatively, there are also taxis right outside the port.

In the area around the port, you’ll also find bars, cafés, and restaurants with sea views, shops and kiosks selling snacks, tickets, and other travel essentials.

There are also paid parking areas for both short and long stays, car and scooter rental agencies, if you want to explore Sorrento and the surrounding area independently, as well as boat tour operators connecting Sorrento with Capri, Ischia, and the Amalfi Coast.
