Cabins and accomodation
When it comes to accommodation, most ferries on the Corsica - Sardinia route offer deck-lounge seats, numbered seats with reclining backs, and various types of cabins (inside cabins, sea-view cabins, suites, and accessible cabins for people with disabilities).
The exception is the Bonifacio - Santa Teresa Gallura ferry, due to the short duration of the crossing: cabins are not available on these vessels, but you will still find indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar service on board.
Ticket prices vary depending on the travel period, the ferry company, the route, and the type of accommodation selected.
The cheapest option is a deck-lounge seat, with fares starting at around €20-22, depending on the route.
How much luggage is allowed on the ferries?
Each ferry company has its own luggage policy, so we recommend checking the applicable rules before departure:
- On Moby Lines ferries, there are no specific limits on luggage weight or size.
- With Corsica Ferries, you can bring 1 piece of hand luggage free of charge, provided it does not exceed 200x100x50 cm.
- With Ichnusa Lines, 1 piece of hand luggage up to 150x50x25 cm is included free of charge.
Amenities for people with disabilities
Ferries from Corsica to Sardinia offer accessible services for passengers with disabilities and PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility).
Depending on the vessel and operator, you may find access ramps and lifts, as well as reserved seating in the common areas. For extra comfort and privacy, some ferries also feature adapted cabins and accessible toilets.

Can I travel with my pet?
Pets are welcome on board all ferries from Corsica to Sardinia. To travel with your four-legged companion, simply add your pet to the booking and pay a small supplement.
Dogs must always travel with a lead and muzzle, while smaller pets must remain in their carrier.
On Moby Lines and Ichnusa Lines ferries, pets are only allowed on the outdoor decks. On Corsica Ferries, however, pets are generally allowed in the common areas, with the exception of certain restricted spaces.
On some routes, you can also book a pet-friendly cabin.

Where to take the ferry from Corsica to Sardinia?
Corsica is connected to Sardinia via 4 main ports: Bonifacio, Ajaccio, Propriano, and Bastia.
Port of Bonifacio
Ferries from Bonifacio to Santa Teresa Gallura depart from the ferry terminal at the commercial port (Quai Sott, Portigliola quay). The port is located just a short distance from the town center and can easily be reached on foot in 20 min. or by car in 5 min. Several parking areas are available nearby.
The Bonifacio - Santa Teresa Gallura route is available all year round, with up to 7 crossings per day.
Port of Ajaccio
Ajaccio is the capital of Corsica and is located in the southwest of the island. Ferries to Porto Torres depart from the ferry terminal at the port of Ajaccio. The port is located just a few steps from the train station, and can also be easily reached by car (5 min.) or on foot (15 min.).
Ajaccio airport is well connected to the port by bus (line 8) and is just 20 min. away by car.
Ferries from Ajaccio to Porto Torres operate all year round, with 2-3 departures per week depending on the season.
Ferries from Ajaccio to Golfo Aranci operate only a few months a year with occasional crossings.
Port of Propriano
The port of Propriano overlooks the Gulf of Valinco, on the southwestern coast of Corsica, and serves both commercial and tourist traffic.
It is located just a few minutes’ walk from the town center, and in the surrounding area you will find several useful services, such as bars, restaurants, accommodation, vehicle rentals and taxis.
Ferries from Propriano to Porto Torres operate from April to October.
Port of Bastia
The port of Bastia is located in the heart of the city. The port area is divided into 2 sections: the Old Port and the commercial port. Ferries to Golfo Aranci depart from the piers of the commercial port, where you can find bars, restaurants, rental services and several hotels.
The Bastia - Golfo Aranci route is active only during some months of the year, with around 2 crossings per week. On certain days, the connection may include a stopover at the port of Livorno.
How to get to the port of Ajaccio, Bonifacio, Propriano and Bastia?
Corsican ports are well connected and easy to reach both by car and by public transport.
Port of Ajaccio
- By car: if you’re arriving from the north of Corsica, take the T20. From the south, take the T40. If you’re coming from the north-west, follow the D81 coastal road. Once in town, follow the signs for Port de Commerce or Môle Croisière.
- By bus: local bus line 5 connects various parts of the city with the port area.
- By train: from the railway station, the port can easily be reached on foot in around 5-10 min.
- By plane: Ajaccio Airport (AJA) is only 7 km from the port. Bus line 8 reaches the terminal in around 20 min. Alternatively, you can take a taxi.
Port of Bonifacio
- By car: if you’re arriving from the west, take the T40. From the east, follow the T10 along the eastern coast.
- By bus: if you’re travelling from Ajaccio, you can use local buses operated by Eurocorse (usually 2 daily services, with more departures in July and August). Bonifacio bus station is located in the port area, so you’ll arrive close to the ferry terminal. From other towns, a change is often required in major hubs such as Ajaccio, Bastia or Porto-Vecchio, depending on the active routes.
- By train: Bonifacio is not connected to the railway network.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Figari Sud Corse, around 20 min by car from Bonifacio town centre. You can also use the LB bus line.
Port of Propriano
- By car: if you’re arriving from the west, take the N196 southbound. From the south, follow the N196 northbound towards Propriano / Ajaccio. From the east/south-east, take the N198, turn onto the D859 towards Figari, continue on the N196 towards Propriano, then follow the D196 towards the town centre/commercial port. If you’re arriving from the north, continue south across the island until you join the N196.
- By bus: Propriano can be reached by several bus routes, depending on your point of departure.
- By train: Propriano does not have a railway station.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Figari Sud Corse, around 50 min by car from Propriano town centre.
Port of Bastia
- By car: from central Corsica via Corte, take the T20. If you’re travelling from the south/south-east, follow the T10 northbound. From the north, take the T30 and then the T20. To reach Bastia town centre and the port area, continue on the T11.
- By bus: there are several intercity bus lines connecting Bastia with other destinations, with timetables varying significantly between summer and the low season.
- By train: Bastia is connected by rail to Ajaccio and Corte. The railway station is near the port and the terminal can be reached on foot.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Bastia-Poretta (BIA), around 20 km from the city. Bastia town centre can be reached by shuttle service or local bus.
Where do ferries arrive in Sardinia?
Ferries departing from Corsica usually arrive at the ports of Santa Teresa Gallura, Porto Torres and Golfo Aranci.
The port of Santa Teresa Gallura is located in the northernmost part of Sardinia, in the province of Sassari. Very close to the historic center, it can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. There are also free parking areas nearby.
Porto Torres is located in northwestern Sardinia, in the province of Sassari. The terminal is just a short walk from the town center. Ferries arrive at the port’s commercial area, where you can find bars, ticket offices and various other services.
The port of Golfo Aranci is located on the northeastern coast of Sardinia, around 18 km from Olbia. Nearby, you’ll find bars and parking areas. The port is also easily reachable on foot from the center of town.
How long is the ferry ride from Corsica to Sardinia?
Direct ferries between Corsica and Sardinia usually take between 50 min. and 4 hr., depending on the route, ferry company and vessel type.
The fastest crossing, lasting around 50 min. to 1 hr., is the one between Bonifacio and Santa Teresa Gallura.
For the other most common routes, crossing times are usually:
- Ajaccio - Porto Torres: between 4 hr. 15 min. and 4 hr. 45 min.
- Propriano - Porto Torres: around 3 hr. 45 min.
Keep in mind that connections involving Bastia include a stopover and may take more than 12 hr.
