Where to take the ferry from from Piombino to Rio Marina

Ferries to Rio Marina depart from the port of Piombino (usually from Molo Elba), which is less than 2 km from the town centre. The port is easy to reach by train in around 20 min. Piombino Marittima station is just a 2-min walk from the ferry terminal.

If you’re travelling without a car, you can leave your vehicle in the car parks located within the port area of Piombino.

Where does the ferry arrive in Rio Marina?

The port of Rio Marina is located on the eastern coast of the Island of Elba. It is a small harbour just a short walk from the town centre. From here, you can also travel to the island of Pianosa.

Getting around Rio Marina

From the port of Rio Marina, you can easily reach the historic centre and the seafront on foot. To get to nearby areas, such as Porto Azzurro, and the surrounding beaches, it is best to use your own vehicle or hire a scooter or bike. Alternatively, there are taxis and buses (route 117).
