Can I sit outside on the ferry?

Where to take the ferry from Korčula to Hvar

Ferries to Hvar depart from 3 ports on the island of Korčula: Korčula Town, Prigradica and Vela Luka. The departure port depends on the ferry service you choose, so make sure to check the location shown on your ticket before traveling across the island.

Korčula Town port

Catamarans normally depart from the passenger port beside the historic Old Town, on the town’s waterfront. Depending on weather and port conditions, ferries may use different quays on either side of the Old Town peninsula, so check the boarding information on your ticket.

The port is within a few minutes’ walk of Korčula’s Old Town, restaurants, shops, hotels, ticket agencies and other traveler services. The main bus station is also nearby.

• On foot: from the Old Town and central accommodation areas, you can normally reach the passenger quay in around 2-5 min.
• By bus: Korčula bus station is about a 5-min walk from the waterfront. Buses connect the town with Lumbarda, Blato, Vela Luka and other parts of the island.
• By car: follow the signs for Korčula Town and the town center. As the Old Town is largely pedestrianized, you will need to leave your vehicle in one of the parking areas outside the historic center.
• By taxi: taxis and private transfers can drop you off close to the passenger port.

Prigradica port

The small port of Prigradica is on the northern coast of Korčula, in the center of the seaside village. The catamaran pier is close to local accommodation, beaches, cafés and restaurants.

Prigradica is approximately 4 km from Blato, the nearest larger town. Public transport is limited, so a taxi, private transfer or car is often the most convenient way to reach the port.

• From Blato: the drive to Prigradica normally takes around 10 min.
• From Korčula Town: allow around 45-55 min by car or taxi.
• Parking: limited parking is available around the village, but spaces close to the waterfront may fill up during July and August.

Vela Luka port

Ferries to Hvar depart from the passenger terminal in Vela Luka, on the western side of Korčula island. The port is located along the town’s waterfront and within walking distance of cafés, shops, restaurants, hotels, ticket offices and car-rental services.

• On foot: the passenger terminal is around a 5-10 min walk from central Vela Luka.
• By bus: the bus station is close to the port, with connections to Blato, Korčula Town and other settlements on the island.
• By car: follow the signs for Vela Luka and the passenger terminal. As vehicles cannot travel on the catamaran to Hvar, you will need to park before boarding.
• From Korčula Town: the journey takes around 50-60 min by car and longer by bus.

Where does the ferry arrive in Hvar?

Ferries from Korčula Town, Prigradica and Vela Luka arrive at the port of Hvar, directly on the waterfront in Hvar Town. Catamarans dock along the central harbor promenade, just a few steps from St. Stephen’s Square, the Old Town and many of the town’s hotels, restaurants, cafés and shops.

The main bus station is approximately 500-800 m from the port and can usually be reached in around 7-10 min on foot. From there, buses connect Hvar Town with Stari Grad, Jelsa, Vrboska and other parts of the island. Taxis, rental agencies and boat-transfer services are also available near the waterfront.

Important: the passenger ferries from Korčula arrive in Hvar Town, not at the car-ferry port of Stari Grad, which is located around 20 km away.
