  • Corsica Ferries allows passengers to carry 1 hand luggage item for free with a maximum size of 200x100x50 cm.
  • With Menorca Lines, foot passengers can carry up to 20 kg of baggage.

Traveling with pets

You can bring your pet on all Mallorca - Menorca ferries, provided you include it in your booking. With Menorca Lines, pets usually travel for free, while pet tickets with BaleàriaCorsica Ferries and Trasmed usually cost €10 to €20, depending on the route and type of accommodation.

Where do pets stay?

On most ferries, your pet can stay with you or in the onboard kennels, while on the conventional ferries you typically have the option of booking a pet-friendly cabin.

The ferries have designated walking areas, however pets are generally not allowed in standard cabins, lounges or dining areas. During the trip, smaller pets must be kept in their carrier, while larger pets must wear a muzzle and be kept on a leash.

Where to take the ferry from Mallorca to Menorca

Wondering how to get from Mallorca to Menorca? Mallorca has 2 ports: the port of the capital Palma de Mallorca and the port of Alcúdia.

  • The port of Alcúdia is on the northeastern coast of Mallorca, and the ferry docks are at the Commercial Dock (Muelle Comercial) right in front of the Maritime Station. The port is roughly 60 km from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI).
  • Mahón is situated on the southwestern side of the island, with ferries departing from the main commercial port area along Avinguda de Gabriel Roca. This terminal sits directly next to the city's historic center and is about 12 km from the airport.

Both ports are highly accessible and provide comprehensive traveler amenities, including ticket offices, waiting lounges,  cafés, car rental services and parking facilities.

How to get to the ports of Mallorca

  • To the port of Alcúdia by car: from Palma or the airport, take the Ma-13 highway directly north and follow the signs for Puerto de Alcúdia.
  • To the port of Alcúdia by bus: many local TIB buses connect the Alcúdia port with major hubs across the island, with line A32 providing a direct connection from Palma Airport to Alcúdia, while line 302 runs regularly from central Palma (Estació Intermodal).  
  • To the port of Palma by car: you can easily reach the ferry port via the Ma-19 highway from the airport.  
  • To the port of Palma by bus: EMT city bus Line 1 runs directly from Palma Airport to the port terminal, with Line 4 connects the historic center to the ferry port area with frequent daily departures.
  • By taxi: taxis are readily available outside the arrivals terminals at Palma Airport and throughout the island, with a taxi ride to the port of Palma taking about 15 min, while a taxi to the port of Alcúdia takes around 45-50 min.  

Good to know: the two ports of Mallorca are connected by regular train and bus services, with the trip lasting approximately 1 hr.

Where does the ferry arrive in Menorca?

Ferries from Mallorca dock at 2 ports on Menorca: Ciutadella and Mahón (also known as Maó).

  • The port of Ciutadella (Son Blanc) is the island’s main ferry gateway and is on the west coast of Mallorca, around 3 km from the town center.
  • The port of Mahón (Cos Nou) is on the eastern side of Menorca, about 2 km away from the town center and around 6 km from Menorca Airport.

Both ports are well-equipped, with many cafés, restaurants, shops and useful tourist services nearby. A regular bus service connects the two cities, which are about 45 km apart.
