• Tanger Med is a large commercial port located about 40 km east of Tangier city, close to the Strait of Gibraltar. The port is modern and well equipped, with dedicated ferry terminals for passengers and vehicles, as well as clear signage and check-in facilities.
• Tanger Ville is located in the heart of Tangier, right next to the city centre and the marina. Thanks to its central location, Tanger Ville is especially convenient for foot passengers and travellers staying in or near the old town (Medina).

Getting to Tanger Med

Tanger Med is located about 40 km east of Tangier city and is best reached by car or taxi. The drive usually takes 45 min to 1 hr, depending on traffic. Taxis can be arranged from the city centre, the train station or hotels.

There are also Intercity and shuttle bus services connect Tangier with Tanger Med, however schedules can be limited and travel times longer. This option is more suitable for travellers with flexible schedules.

Getting to Tanger Ville

Tanger Ville port is within walking distance of the city centre, the marina and the Medina, making it ideal for foot passengers. There are also taxis widely available throughout Tangier and for quick access to the port from any part of the city.

The Tangier Ville train station is close to the port. From the station, you can reach the ferry terminal on foot or with a short taxi ride.

Where does the ferry arrive in Spain?

Ferries from Tangier arrive at 4 ports in Spain and the Iberian Peninsula, depending on the route and season: Algeciras, Tarifa, Barcelona and Gibraltar.
