Where to take the ferry from France to Morocco

Ferries to Morocco normally depart from 2 ports on the southern coast of France: Sète and Marseille.

  • The port of Sète is near the downtown area and the train station. Ferries to Tanger Med and Nador typically depart from the Gare Maritime Orsetti ferry terminal, in the main passenger facilities at the port.
  • The international ferry terminals at Marseille Fos are just north of downtown Marseille and easy to reach by public transport, taxi, or car.

Getting to the port of Sète
  • On foot: the port is within walking distance of the city center, but you can also get there by taxi if you are further away or have luggage.
  • By car: follow signs to the Port de Sète - Gare Maritime Orsetti, the port sits just off the D2/N112 and has parking nearby.
  • By train: you can reach Gare SNCF de Sète from many major and nearby cities in France. The train station is a 15-20 min walk to the port.
Getting to Marseille
  • By car: follow signs for Port de Marseille - Ferries / Cap Janet from the A7 or A55 highways.
  • By metro and tram: take Metro line 2 to Joliette and from there, you can continue by taxi or local bus.
  • By train: from Gare Saint-Charles, you can take a taxi (15-20 min) or switch over to metro line 2 and continue with a bus.
  • By taxi: taxis are widely available throughout the city and at the airport.

Where does the ferry arrive in Morocco?

Port of Tanger Med

The port of Nador is in the town of Beni Ensar, which is about 13 km north of the city of Nador and next to the international border with the autonomous Spanish city of Melilla.
