- With Alicost, you can carry 1 piece of luggage up to 50x35x20 cm in size and 9 kg in weight free of charge.
- On Cooperativa S. Andrea ferries, you can bring 1 small bag up to 45×35×20 cm free of charge.
- With Positano Jet and Grassi Junior, there are no restrictions on the number of bags you can bring on board. The ferry companies charge an additional fee for each piece of luggage, regardless of size.
Bear in mind that an extra fee may apply for any extra luggage or luggage exceeding the indicated dimensions.

Where to take the ferry from Capri to Salerno?
Ferries and hydrofoils to Salerno depart from the port of Marina Grande, on the northern coast of Capri. This is the island’s only passenger port, where all ferry connections arrive and depart.
In the port area, you’ll find ticket offices, bars, restaurants, shops, luggage storage facilities, taxis and buses.
How to get to the port of Capri
The port of Capri is connected to the rest of the island by funicular, bus and taxi (non-residents are not allowed to bring private cars onto the island).
- From Capri town (Piazzetta): the quickest option is the funicular, which takes around 4-5 min to reach Marina Grande. Services run every 10-15 min from 06:30 to 23:00. Alternatively, you can take a SIPPIC bus.
- From Anacapri: you can take the direct Anacapri - Marina Grande bus, or travel by bus to Capri town and continue by funicular. The journey takes around 25 min, with departures every 30 min.
- From Marina Piccola or other parts of the island: you can use the local bus services connecting the island’s 2 municipalities, with intermediate stops and, if necessary, a change in Capri town or Anacapri.
Capri’s characteristic open-top taxis serve all areas accessible by road. You can find them at the port, near the Piazzetta, in Anacapri and at Marina Piccola. They’re more expensive than public transport, but particularly convenient if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage.
Where does the ferry arrive in Salerno?
Ferries from Capri may arrive at Molo Concordia, in Piazza della Concordia, or at Molo Manfredi. The arrival terminal depends on the ferry company and crossing you choose, so make sure to check the details on your ticket.
Molo Concordia is the closest to the city center and is around a 5-min walk from Salerno train station. Molo Manfredi, where the Stazione Marittima ferry terminal is located, is around a 10-min taxi ride from the station. The 2 piers are about a 20-min walk apart.

Keep in mind that for much of the year, vehicles belonging to non-residents are not allowed to circulate on the island, except in specific cases. To get around Capri, it’s therefore best to use buses, the funicular and taxis.

From November to March, you can often buy your ticket just a few days before departure, but keep in mind that crossings are less frequent.
Molo Concordia (Molo Masuccio) is generally the most convenient option: it’s located close to the city center and around a 5-min walk from Salerno train station. It’s therefore ideal if you’re continuing your journey by train, bus or on foot.
Molo Manfredi is farther from the station and can be reached in around 10 min by taxi. However, it may be the better option if the most convenient departure time or ferry service uses the Stazione Marittima terminal.
The 2 piers are around 20 min apart on foot. The best choice therefore also depends on the schedule and ferry company, so always check the terminal shown on your ticket.
