The best time to book your ferry tickets to Syros depends on when you plan to travel. For trips during the summer, namely from June to September, it is best to book your tickets at least 2 months in advance, as demand is high.

• Whether you are traveling to or from Syros, especially during the summer, it is recommended to be at the port at least 1 hr before your ferry is scheduled to leave. If you are traveling with car or motorbike, it is important to be there 1.5 hr ahead of your departure.
• For a unique vacation experience, consider visiting Syros during winter, when you can enjoy the island's stately and peaceful atmosphere. Alternatively, if you crave the summer vibes, without the crowds, plan your visit during the shoulder months of June or September.
• To get a taste of the authentic side of Syros make sure you explore Ano Syros, as well as the seaside villages of Kini and Galissas.
• If you want to get around at your own pace and discover the most remote parts of the island, we recommend taking your car on the ferry to Syros or renting one once you get there.
• Syros is the perfect starting point for island hopping in the Cyclades. From the island's port, you can continue your adventure to Tinos, Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, and many other islands.

The conventional ferries and high-speed catamarans traveling to Syros are equipped with modern amenities for a comfortable and relaxed trip across the Aegean. Most ferries are accessible to travelers with disabilities and are equipped with elevators and escalators.

Onboard you will typically find spacious air-conditioned lounges, bars offering snacks, coffee, and drinks, as well as shops for last-minute purchases. Typically, you can choose between interior cabins, exterior cabins with a window and deluxe cabins with a window and double bed. Cabin prices start at around €69, depending on the type of cabin and the port of departure to Syros.

Syros has 1 port, which is located in Ermoupoli, the island's capital. All conventional and high-speed ferries from the ports of Attica and other islands in the Aegean arrive there. In the area around the port you will find cafés, restaurants, hotels and shops, as well as car rental agencies and a bus station to get around Syros.
