Where to take the ferry from Tenerife to Huelva

Ferries to Huelva normally set sail from the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife on the northeastern side of Tenerife. This is the main passenger port of Tenerife and one of the busiest in the region, with connections to many other Canary Islands and mainland Spain.

Around the port, you’ll find plenty of useful travel amenities, including cafés, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, and supermarkets, perfect for picking up last-minute essentials. There are also ATMs, tour operators, car rental agencies, and several hotels nearby.

How to get to the port in Tenerife

Getting to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is easy, whether you’re traveling by car, bus, or taxi:

• By car: the port is directly connected to the island’s main motorway, the TF-1, which runs along the east and south coasts. There are short- and long-term parking areas close to the ferry terminals.
• By bus: you can hop on buses from both airports and many popular towns and resorts across Tenerife, such as Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Puerto de la Cruz, and La Laguna. Many buses stop within walking distance of the port entrance.
• By taxi: the most convenient way to reach the port is by taxi, especially if you’re carrying luggage. The ride from Tenerife North Airport takes about 15-20 min, while from Tenerife South Airport it’s roughly 45-50 min.

Where does the ferry arrive in Huelva?

Ferries from Tenerife typically dock at Puerto Exterior Muelle Sur, the south pier in the outer port of Huelva. This modern port area sits a short distance from the city center and has clear signage to help passengers disembark and continue their journey. Facilities on-site include parking areas, a passenger terminal, taxi services, and connections to main roads.

From the port, you can reach Huelva city center in about 20-25 min by car, or take one of the bus or shuttle services that operate when ferries arrive. Huelva also has train connections to nearby cities, making it easy to continue traveling through Andalusia.
