Ferry from Huelva to Tenerife

When traveling from Huelva to Tenerife, you can take advantage of regular discounts of up to 50% available to specific traveler categories. You can usually expect lower ferry ticket prices for:

Can I book a cabin?

When traveling from Huelva to Tenerife by ferry, you can book a cabin for 1-4 passengers to enjoy a more comfortable journey.

Typically, you have the option between interior cabins, exterior cabins (with a sea view), deluxe cabins (with sea view and double bed), and pet-friendly cabins. Cabin prices normally start from about €400.

Alternatively, most ferries also have the option of booking a numbered airplane-style seat in the business lounge, with prices starting at around €135.

What types of seats can I book?

Passengers can normally choose between:

• Standard seats: padded reclining seats with power sockets and USB ports.
• Comfort seats: ergonomic reclining seats with additional padding and footrests. These include access to a VIP lounge with snacks, drinks, a welcome kit and shower facilities.
• Sleep Lounge beds: available on the Buenavista Express, with individual bunk-style beds in a shared lounge, privacy curtains and secure lockers.

How much luggage can I bring on board?

With Fred. Olsen you can bring up to 20 kg of luggage. You can also rent a locker with a key and padlock for your luggage for just €1. Keep in mind that only 1 piece of luggage is allowed in the ferry passenger area, in addition to small personal items, provided that it does not obstruct passageways or occupy a seat.

Can I travel with my pet?

Pets are generally allowed on Huelva - Tenerife ferries, provided you include them in your bookings. Depending on the ferry company, you may have the option of bringing your furry friend with you in a carrier or on a lead, as well as booking a pet-friendly cabin or a place in a covered and ventilated pet room or kennel.

Pet-friendly cabins can normally accommodate up to 2 pets weighing no more than 30 kg each, subject to availability. The onboard kennels have cameras that allow you to check on your pet, and visits are permitted during extended visiting hours. The ferries also have a dedicated outdoor walking area for dogs.

Here are some useful tips for your ferry Huelva - Tenerife trip:

• Huelva’s port can get busy, especially in the summer, so plan your arrival there at least 1 hr in advance. If you are traveling with a vehicle, we recommend arriving at the port of Huelva at least 2 hr before boarding.
• Depending on the departure, the crossing may be direct or include a stopover in Gran Canaria. 
• The sea can get a bit choppy, so if you are sensitive to the waves, consider taking seasickness medication before the trip. As always, you can discuss your options with your pharmacist or doctor.

Where to take the ferry from Huelva to Tenerife

You can travel by ferry to Tenerife from the port of Huelva in Andalusia. The city is located on the southwest coast of Spain, near the border with Portugal.

The port of Huelva has 2 sections: Puerto Interior, the inner port which is in the city, and the Puerto Exterior, the main port of Huelva which is about 17 km from the city center.

Ferries to Tenerife and the Canary Islands depart from Muelle Sur in Huelva’s Puerto Exterior. You can easily reach the outer port of Huelva by car and train, while the closest airport is the Seville Airport (about 105 km from Huelva).

If driving from Huelva, follow the H-30 towards La Rábida/Puerto and continue along the N-442, following the signs for Puerto exterior and Terminal de contenedores - Ferry.

The terminal has parking, a pre-boarding area, toilets, air conditioning, vending machines and luggage racks for foot passengers.

Where does the ferry arrive in Tenerife?

Ferries from Huelva arrive at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, usually at Muelle de Bufadero in the Tenerife Container Terminal. The port is on the northeastern side of the island, around 10-15 min from central Santa Cruz by car, taxi or local bus.

Around the port and in central Santa Cruz, you can find parking, cafés, restaurants, shops, hotels, ATMs and car rental services.
