Pet-friendly cabins can normally accommodate up to 2 pets weighing no more than 30 kg each, subject to availability. The onboard kennels have cameras that allow you to check on your pet, and visits are permitted during extended visiting hours. The ferries also have a dedicated outdoor walking area for dogs.

  • Huelva’s port can get busy, especially in the summer, so plan your arrival there at least 1 hr in advance. If you are traveling with a vehicle, we recommend arriving at the port of Huelva at least 2 hr before boarding.

Where to take the ferry from Huelva to Tenerife

You can travel by ferry to Tenerife from the port of Huelva in Andalusia. The city is located on the southwest coast of Spain, near the border with Portugal.

The port of Huelva has 2 sections: Puerto Interior, the inner port which is in the city, and the Puerto Exterior, the main port of Huelva which is about 17 km from the city center.

Ferries to Tenerife and the Canary Islands depart from Muelle Sur in Huelva’s Puerto Exterior. You can easily reach the outer port of Huelva by car and train, while the closest airport is the Seville Airport (about 105 km from Huelva).

If driving from Huelva, follow the H-30 towards La Rábida/Puerto and continue along the N-442, following the signs for Puerto exterior and Terminal de contenedores - Ferry.

The terminal has parking, a pre-boarding area, toilets, air conditioning, vending machines and luggage racks for foot passengers.

Where does the ferry arrive in Tenerife?

Ferries from Huelva arrive at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, usually at Muelle de Bufadero in the Tenerife Container Terminal. The port is on the northeastern side of the island, around 10-15 min from central Santa Cruz by car, taxi or local bus.
