Where to take the ferry from Brindisi to Igoumenitsa

Ferries to Igoumenitsa normally depart from the port of Brindisi, located just south of the city center. Ferries to Greece usually depart from Costa Morena (Punta delle Terrare), which is the main terminal for international crossings.

The port is about 2-3 km from the downtown area and approximately 6 km from Brindisi Airport (Salento Airport). The port area is well signposted and easily accessible by car, taxi and public transport.

At the port, you will find waiting areas and ticket offices, and nearby there are cafés, small shops, car-rental offices and other basic services.

How to get to the port of Brindisi

• By car: the port is easily reached via the SS16 national road and the Brindisi ring road. Simply follow signs for Porto and Costa Morena, there is paid parking near the terminal.
• By bus: many local buses connect the city center and the port area, with the journey takin 10-15 min.
• By taxi: there are plenty of taxis throughout the city, with a typically ride to the port taking around 5-10 min from the center and 15-20 min from the airport.
• By train: the train station of Brindisi is about 3 km from the port, with taxis and buses available nearby.

Where does the ferry arrive in Igoumenitsa?

Ferries from Brindisi normally arrive at the port of Igoumenitsa, on the western coast of mainland Greece. The port is divided into 2 areas: the central pier on the southern coast of the city which handles international ferries, and the northern pier, which handles local crossings to the Ionian islands.

The central pier is close to the town center and intercity bus (KTEL) station, so you can easily reach local buses, taxis, or car-rental desks after disembarking. There are also cafés, restaurants and small shops within walking distance.
