Where to take the ferry from Naples to Cagliari

Ferries to Sardinia depart from the Calata Porta di Massa pier in the port of Naples, specifically from Via Immacolatella Vecchia. The port area is equipped with essential amenities, such as bars, restaurants, ATMs, WC, and luggage storage spaces.

How to get to the port of Naples

• On foot: the terminal is close to the city center. From Piazza Municipio, Calata Porta di Massa is just a 10 minute walk.
• By bus: Naples' public bus network, operated by ANM, serves the port area with several lines. The stop "Piazza Municipio" or "Porto" is the most convenient.
• By car: the port area is accessible from the A1 and A3 motorways. Follow the signs for "Porto" once you enter the city. Parking is available near the terminal, though spaces can fill up quickly in summer.
• By train: Naples' main station, Napoli Centrale, is about 3 km from the port. You can take the metro (Line 1) to the Municipio stop, which is just a few minutes' walk to the terminal. Alternatively, a taxi from the station takes about 10 to 15 min.
• By taxi: taxis are widely available throughout the city. A ride from Napoli Centrale to the port costs approximately €10 to €15 and takes about 10 to 15 min, depending on traffic.
• By plane: Naples Capodichino Airport is about 7 km from the port. The Alibus shuttle connects the airport directly with the port area in around 20 to 30 min.

Where does the ferry arrive in Cagliari?

Cagliari's port is one of the largest in the Mediterranean. It is divided into 2 areas: the historic center port along Via Roma and the modern port in Giorgino. The port of Via Roma is the main port of the city, with a history dating back to the Phoenician-Punic and Roman periods.

You'll find a passenger train station and many bars, restaurants, pizzerias and ice-cream parlours in the port area. The harbor is very close to the city center and just a short walk from the railway station. There is a regular train service from the port to Cagliari Elmas airport.
