Where to take the ferry from Morro Jable to Las Palmas

Ferries to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria normally set sail from the port of Morro Jable, a settlement on the southern coast of Fuerteventura. Follow the harbor signs toward Calle Atlántico, then head to your ferry company’s boarding area. The port town is about 90 km from Puerto del Rosario, the island capital.

In the area around the port of Morro Jable you will find cafés, restaurants and hotels, as well as banks, ATMs, supermarkets, shops, tour operators. Parking is available within the port; if your car is traveling with you, follow your operator’s signs to the preboarding area.

How to get to the port of Morro Jable

• By car: take the FV-2 south from the airport or Puerto del Rosario, then follow the signs for the harbor in Morro Jable.
• By bus from the airport: TIADHE bus 10 connects the airport with Morro Jable in approximately 1 hr 30 min, with several daily departures.
• By bus from other towns: bus 1 connects Puerto del Rosario with Morro Jable, while bus 5 serves Costa Calma - Morro Jable. Some bus 1 departures continue to Muelle de Morro Jable, so check the service notes rather than assuming every bus reaches the pier.
• By taxi: you can take a taxi directly to your operator’s terminal from your accommodation or the airport. There is also a taxi rank beside the ferry terminal.

Where does the ferry arrive in Las Palmas?

Ferries from Morro Jable arrive at Puerto de La Luz y de Las Palmas, on the northern side of Gran Canaria. Your exact arrival point depends on the operator, with Baleària ferries using Muelle Nelson Mandela, in the La Esfinge area, while Fred. Olsen Express ferries dock at Muelle Grande Poniente. Check the terminal before arranging a pickup, as these are separate locations within the port.

Baleària offers a free FerryBus between its arrival quay and the Fundación Puerto de Las Palmas office, although availability is restricted on some sailings. At the Fred. Olsen terminal, you’ll find basic amenities, such as restrooms, vending machines, and a taxi rank, with the nearest public bus stop approximately 500 m away.
