Where to take the ferry from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote

Ferries to Lanzarote normally set sail from Puerto de la Luz, which is the main port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the island capital. The seaside town is located on the northeastern coast of Gran Canaria, approximately 25 km from Gran Canaria Airport.

The modern port is near popular areas in the capital, such as Santa Catalina and La Isleta, and nearby you will find cafés, restaurants, shops, hotels, car rental agencies and other useful traveler services. 

How to get to Gran Canaria port

Getting to Puerto de la Luz, the main port in Las Palmas, is straightforward:

• You can easily reach the port on foot from the city center and many hotels, especially around Santa Catalina Park.
• Bus lines 60 and 91 connect the airport with Las Palmas and stop near the port. The bus ride takes 25-35 min, depending on traffic. You can also reach the port directly from the airport by taxi, in about 20-25 min.
• If you are arriving by car, simply follow the GC-1 freeway directly into Las Palmas and the "Puerto / Muelle" signs as you approach the city. If you are leaving your car behind, you will find parking lots nearby.

Where does the ferry arrive in Lanzarote?

Ferries from Gran Canaria typically dock at Puerto de los Mármoles, the port of Arrecife. The seaside town is located on the eastern side of Lanzarote. In the area around the port you will find cafés, small eateries, and parking lots.

You can reach the center of Arrecife on foot in about 10 min, or just 5 min by taxi or bus. Once in the city, you’ll find a wider range of restaurants and shops, as well as connections to major attractions on Lanzarote.
