Where to take the ferry from Tenerife to Lanzarote

Ferries to Lanzarote usually set sail from the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island capital. The seaside city is located in northeastern Tenerife, about 15 km from the Tenerife North Airport and approximately 60 km from the Tenerife South Airport.

Around the port, you’ll find plenty of useful travel amenities, including cafés, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, and supermarkets, perfect for picking up last-minute essentials. There are also ATMs, tour operators, car rental agencies, and several hotels nearby.

How to get to the port of Tenerife

Getting to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is easy, whether you’re traveling by car, bus, or taxi:

• You can hop on buses from both airports and many popular towns and resorts across Tenerife, such as Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Puerto de la Cruz, and La Laguna. Many buses stop within walking distance of the port entrance.
• There are taxis throughout the island, which can be convenient if you’re carrying luggage. The ride from Tenerife North Airport takes about 15-20 min, while from Tenerife South Airport it’s roughly 45-50 min.
• If you are driving yourself, simply get on the TF-1 freeway, which runs along the east and south coasts, and follow the signs to the port.

Where does the ferry arrive in Lanzarote?

Ferries from Gran Canaria typically arrive at Puerto de los Mármoles, the port of Arrecife. The seaside town is located on the eastern side of Lanzarote. In the area around the port you will find cafés, small eateries, and parking lots.
