Where to take the ferry from Hvar to Split

Ferries to Split generally depart from the port of Hvar, located in the central Hvar Town. This is the main port of the island and is located in the southeastern part of the harbor, in the center of Hvar, and is about 500 m from the main bus station.

In the port area, you can find plenty of useful traveler amenities, including bars, restaurants, shops, a post office, and ATMs.

How to get to the port of Hvar

• On foot: if you are staying in Hvar Town, you can easily reach the port on foot in about 2-5 min.
• By bus: local buses connect many major hubs on the island, like Stari Grad and Jelsa with Hvar Town. The main bus station in Hvar Town is a 5-min walk (roughly 300 m) from the port.
• By taxi: taxis can drop you off at the edge of the pedestrianized harbor zone, within walking distance from the port.

Where does the ferry arrive in Split?

Ferries from Hvar arrive at the main port of Split, which is located only a few minutes walk away from the historic city center. It is also easily accessible by public transport, since the main bus and train stations are literally across the street.

In the area around the ferry terminal, there are many useful traveler amenities, including cafés, restaurants, ticket offices, ATMs and shops.

Onward travel from the port of Split

• On foot: from the port you can get to the city center or Old Town in about 5-10 min on foot.
• By bus: the main bus station adjacent to the ship gates, where you can catch regional city lines 9, 10, and 15.
• By taxi: the taxi ride from port to the the airport usually takes around 30 min.
• To Split Airport (SPU): the shuttle bus the central bus station right takes around 30-40 min to reach the airport. Alternatively, from the Pazar stop next to the Old Town, you can reach the airport on municipal bus line 2 in about 45-55 min.
