Ferry from Playa Blanca to Corralejo

When traveling from Playa Blanca to Corralejo, you can take advantage of the regular discounts of up to 50% offered by the ferry companies. While these discounts differ from one company to another, you can generally expect lower ferry ticket prices for:

• Children (4-11 years old)
• Young travelers (under 26 years)
• Senior travelers (60+)
• Large families (Spanish citizens)

Additionally, residents of the Canary Islands are normally entitled to discounts of up to 85% on regular ferry ticket prices.

Note: infants and toddlers up to 3 years old normally travel free of charge.

The ferries serving the Playa Blanca - Corralejo connection are mainly high-speed (Líneas Romero and Fred. Olsen Express), reaching the island in 25 min. There are also conventional ferries of Baleària and Fred. Olsen operating on the route, that reach Fuerteventura in around 35 min.

The vessels are equipped with modern amenities for a comfortable and relaxed journey. The exact facilities depend on the company and vessel:

• Fred. Olsen Express: the Bocayna Express offers a café, free Wi-Fi, power sockets, entertainment, a children’s area, an outdoor deck and a boutique. The smaller Buganvilla Express has more limited facilities.
• Líneas Romero: ferries have indoor and outdoor seating, toilets, a bar-café and free Wi-Fi.
• Baleària: the Volcán de Tindaya has spacious indoor lounges and outdoor areas with sea views. Services may vary, so check the facilities available for your departure when booking.

What accommodation is available on the ferries?

Standard deck/lounge seating is included in the ticket price. On Fred. Olsen Express ferries, standard seats are generally unnumbered, allowing you to choose an available seat after boarding. Depending on the vessel and fare, additional services such as priority boarding may be available.

Líneas Romero offers standard passenger seating in the indoor lounge and on the outdoor deck. The Volcán de Tindaya of Baleària also has spacious communal lounges with standard seating. Baleària also has meal options.

How much luggage can I bring on board?

Each ferry company serving the Playa Blanca - Corralejo route has its own baggage allowance policy:

• With Fred. Olsen, you can carry up to 20 kg of luggage. The company also offers trolleys to transport your bags and lockers for €1.
• On Líneas Romero ferries, you are entitled to 20 kg of baggage. Bicycles and surfboards are also accepted, subject to available space. 
• When traveling with Baleària ferries, there is no fixed weight allowance for ordinary personal luggage. If travelling without a vehicle, you can bring the luggage you are able to carry yourself, without assistance and in one movement. Bulky items, such as kayaks, must be declared when booking.

Accessibility

Accessibility depends on the operator and vessel:

• Fred. Olsen Express: the Bocayna Express provides accessible boarding routes, adapted seats and toilets, wheelchair spaces and assistance from trained staff. However, the Buganvilla Express is not suitable for wheelchair access.
• Baleària: assistance is available for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, but the exact facilities should be confirmed for the Volcán de Tindaya before travelling.
• Líneas Romero: detailed accessibility facilities have not been published. Passengers requiring assistance should contact the company in advance.

Fred. Olsen Express recommends requesting assistance at least 48 hr before departure. In all cases, inform the operator of your requirements when booking and arrive at the port early.

Traveling with pets

Pets are allowed on Playa Blanca - Corralejo ferries, provided you include them in your booking. Pet policies and facilities may vary depending on the company and vessel you're traveling with.

With Fred. Olsen's Bocayna Express vessel, you can choose from 3 pet options, subject to availability:

• Pet Carrier: for animals weighing up to 10 kg, travelling in their own carrier on the lounge floor
• Pet Sofa: the pet stays on a supplied mat beside your seat
• Pet Room: a shaded, ventilated outdoor kennel equipped with a monitoring camera

The Buganvilla Express has designated pet-friendly areas where your pet can remain beside you in a carrier. 

On Líneas Romero ferries, pets can normally travel free of charge in the passenger lounge or on the deck. Dogs must remain on a short leash, while animals belonging to regulated dangerous breeds must wear a muzzle or travel in a suitable carrier. With Baleària, options may include pet-friendly seating, a mat beside your seat or a dedicated kennel.

• The port of Playa Blanca can get quite busy, especially in the summer, so we recommend arriving at the port in Lanzarote at least 45 min before departure. If you are traveling with a vehicle, it is best to be there 1 hr ahead of departure.

Where to take the ferry from Playa Blanca to Corralejo

Ferries to Corralejo in Fuerteventura usually set sail from the port of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote, on the southern tip of the island. The port town is about 36 km from Arrecife and 30 km from Lanzarote Airport. You can easily get to the port by car, taxi, or bus. From Arrecife, it takes around 1 hr by bus or about 40 min by car to get to Playa Blanca.

Where does the ferry arrive in Corralejo?

Ferries from Lanzarote normally arrive in Corralejo, which is on the northern coast of Fuerteventura. In the area around the port you will find cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as shops, hotels, banks, ATMs, and tour operators.

Corralejo is approximately 26 km from Puerto del Rosario and 40 km from Fuerteventura Airport. Bus 6 connects Corralejo with Puerto del Rosario in around 40 min. There is no direct public bus from the port to the airport, so you normally need to change to bus 3 in Puerto del Rosario.
