• On Baleària ferries, there is no specific weight limit for your personal luggage, as long as you carry them on board by yourself.

Traveling with pets

On ferries Almería - Nador, you can bring your pet on board for a small fee. There are usually 3 types of accommodation available for your pets: kennels, pet-friendly seats and pet-friendly cabins. 

The kennels usually cost €6 per pet and are a comfortable option for larger pets or those who require more space. If you are traveling with a smaller pet (up to 8 kg), you can opt for a pet-friendly seat for €10 per pet. Keep in mind that the transport cage size limitations differ between ferry companies: 50x40x25 cm for Naviera Armas and 60x35x35 cm for Baleària.

Please note that on GNV ferries, pets are not permitted in pullman seat areas, common lounges, or regular cabins. However, pets are welcome in specially designated pet cabins.

• We recommend you arrive at the port of Almería at least 1.5 hr before your departure, as it can get busy, especially in the summer and on the weekends.
• The city of Nador is just a 30-min drive to Melilla. You can visit Melilla across the border and witness the region’s history.
• The National Route 15 (N15) connects the city of Nador to Beni Ensar and the port.
• You can reach major Moroccan cities from the port of Nador by train. The Nador - Taourirt line connects Beni Ensar to the national railway network. There are also bus services (operated by CTM) connecting the town of Beni Ensar to some of Morocco’s main urban centers, such as Fez, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier.

Where to take the ferry from Almería to Nador

The port of Almería is very close to the city center of Almería. The ferry from Almería to Nador normally departs from Muelle de la Ribera, near the Almería port entrance. There, you can find parking lots, bars and restaurants.

How to get to the port of Almería?

• Car: the port of Almería is easily accessible by car via the A7 motorway (exit 438). There are parking facilities available near the port entrance.
• Bus: local bus lines 1 and 6 stop by the port. The bus stop is located just outside the port entrance. 
• Airport: the Almería Airport (LEI) is about 10 km east of the city center. You can take a taxi or a shuttle bus to the city center, and then connect to the port using local bus services or a taxi. The shuttle bus (line 30) from the airport stops at key points in the city, including the central bus station, which is a short distance from the port.

Where does the ferry arrive in Nador?

Ferries from Almería usually arrive at Beni Ansar at the port of Nador, about 12-13 km north of Nador city center, right by the land border with Melilla.
