Where do pets stay on the ferry?

Where to take the ferry from Roscoff to Cork

Ferries to Cork normally leave from the ferry terminal at the Port of Roscoff-Bloscon (Gare Maritime, Port de Bloscon), rather than Roscoff’s old harbour. This is Roscoff’s terminal for international Brittany Ferries services. If you are travelling on foot, you will be taken from the terminal to the vessel by shuttle bus, so check your ticket and the port signs for the correct check-in lane or boarding point.

The port is around 1.5 km from the centre of Roscoff and about 55 km from Brest Bretagne Airport. The terminal has an information and ticket desk, a departure lounge, free Wi-Fi, accessible toilets, showers and vending machines. Le Transmanche café is beside the terminal, while the marina is around 300 m away, where you will find cafés and shops.

How to get to the port of Roscoff?

• By car: you can reach Roscoff via the N58 from Morlaix or the D69 from Brest and by following signs for Port de Bloscon or Gare Maritime.
• By bus: BreizhGo line 929 connects Morlaix, Saint-Pol-de-Léon and Roscoff, with the Morlaix-Roscoff journey taking about 35 min. The bus does not enter the ferry terminal, so allow time to walk from the nearest stop in Roscoff.
• By train: there is no railway station in Roscoff, but the nearest one is in Morlaix (24 km south), offering direct TGV service connections from Paris and Rennes. From Morlaix station, you can continue by bus or taxi straight to Roscoff.
• By taxi: a taxi ride from Morlaix takes around 25-30 min, while the drive from Brest Airport takes around 45 min to 1 hr.

Where does the ferry arrive in Cork?

Ferries from Roscoff arrive at Cork Ferry Port, also known as Ringaskiddy Ferry Port. This is Cork’s international ferry terminal on the western side of Cork Harbour, around 16 km from the centre of Cork and 15 km from Cork Airport.

The terminal has basic traveller amenities, including accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities and a Brittany Ferries information desk that opens for ship arrivals and departures. There are no snack bars or cafés at the terminal, but you can find many options, as well as hotels and car-hire agencies, in nearby Ringaskiddy and Carrigaline, as well as in Cork city and at the airport.

Onward travel from the port of Cork

• By car: you can reach Cork city centre in 30-40 min via the N28 and N40. Follow the M8 for Dublin (3 hr), N20 for Limerick (2 hr), N25 for Waterford (1 hr 45 min), or N22 for Killarney (1 hr 40 min).
• By bus: services 223 and 225 run from Ringaskiddy village towards Cork city centre, with the nearest stop being about 10-15 min on foot from the ferry terminal.
• By taxi: a taxi ride to Cork city centre takes around 30 min, while the ride to the airport takes 20-25 min.
• By train: there is no railway station at the port. For rail connections across Ireland, travel to Cork Kent station in the city centre, approximately 30-40 min away by car or taxi.
