Where to take the ferry from Poreč to Venice?
Ferries from Poreč to Venice depart from the Port of Poreč, located along the city's waterfront in the heart of the historic center. International ferry services depart from the passenger terminal on Obala Maršala Tita, just a short walk from the city's main hotels, restaurants and attractions.
Most of Poreč's old town is pedestrianized, with restricted vehicle access. If you're arriving by car, you can leave your vehicle in one of the public parking areas near the bus station and walk to the ferry terminal in just a few minutes.
How to get to the port of Poreč
- By car: Poreč is well connected to the rest of Istria via the A9 motorway (Istrian Y). Simply follow the signs to the port from the town center.
- By bus: the Poreč Bus Station is around a 5-10 minute walk from the port. There are frequent services to major destinations across Istria, as well as national and international connections to Zagreb, Rijeka, Trieste and Ljubljana.
- By train: Poreč does not have a train station. The nearest railway station is in Pazin, in the Istrian hinterland, from where you can continue to Poreč by bus.
- By plane: the nearest airport is Pula Airport (PUY), located about 60 km from Poreč. From the airport, you can reach the port by rental car, taxi or bus with a transfer in central Pula.
Where do ferries arrive in Venice?
Ferries from Poreč arrive at the San Basilio Terminal, in the Zattere area, close to Venice's historic center.
The terminal is located on Fondamenta Zattere al Ponte Lungo and is easily accessible on foot or by vaporetto (water bus) from Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto and Venezia Santa Lucia railway station.
