Ferry from Mytilene to Izmir

Where to take the ferry from Mytilene to Izmir

Ferries to Izmir depart from the main port of Lesbos in the coastal town of Mytilene, on the southeastern shores of the island. Around the port, you will find cafés, restaurants, and shops, as well as car rentals and a parking lot.

Where does the ferry arrive in Izmir?

When traveling from Mytilene, there are 2 ports in Izmir: the port of Alsancak, in the Bay of Izmir, and the port of Dikili, to the north of the Turkish city.

• The port of Alsancak is a 20-minute drive from the city center of Izmir, while the public transport options (tram and buses 33 or 35) take about 1 hour
• The port of Dikili is about 120 km north of Izmir, with the drive taking 1.5 to 2 hrs by car and around 4.5 hrs by public transport.
