On DFDS and TT-Line ferries there is no limit to the luggage you can carry. During your ferry trip from Klaipėda to Karlshamn, you can keep your luggage next to you, keep it in your vehicle, or store it in your cabin.

Good to know: bear in mind that there is no check-in procedure for luggage items.

Pets are welcome on the Klaipėda - Karlshamn route. DFDS and TT-Line ferries have specially designed infrastructures for pets, such as pet toilets and designated deck areas.

During the trip, your pet can stay in your vehicle or in the cabin with you. However, pets are not allowed in the commodore cabin, shared cabin and reclining seat area.

Make sure to carry your pet’s passport, health certificates and any supplies you might need.

It is also worth attending the town’s great summer festival, the Östersjöfestivalen.
• Moreover, don’t leave Karlshamn without having some salmon first. The town’s salmon fishing is some of the best worldwide!

Where to take the ferry from Klaipėda to Karlshamn

Ferries to Karlshamn depart regularly from the terminal at the port of Klaipėda. The significant Lithuanian port is located in the southwestern part of the city. It is one of the few ice-free ports in northernmost Europe and serves both passenger and cargo ships. It also includes ship repair and ship building yards.

From the Klaipėda train station, the port is around a 15-minute drive and about 40 minutes by public transport (buses 8 and 3). If you get to the port by car, you can reach it by highway A1.
