Ferry routes in Thailand for 2025

The first thing you need to know when planning your ferry travel in Thailand is that the country stretches across 2 coastlines: the west and the east.

The west coast faces the Andaman Sea and offers ferry routes that connect famous destinations such as Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lanta, and Koh Lipe. Here you’ll find the picture-perfect beaches and dramatic cliffs that Thailand is renowned for.

On the east coast, in the Gulf of Thailand, ferries connect renowned destinations like Koh Samui, Ko Pha-ngan and Koh Tao. This coastline is known for its nightlife, diving centers and scenic harbors lined with palm trees.

The most popular routes operate year-round, while others are seasonal. You’ll find more frequent crossings during the dry season (December to April), and fewer during the rainy season.
