Where to take the ferry from Genoa to Tunis

Ferries to Tunis uset sail from the western passenger terminals in the port of Genoa (Porto di Genova), most commonly Ponte dei Mille or Calata Andrea Doria, depending on the ferry company and vessel. These terminals handle international routes and are clearly signposted.

How to get to the port of Genoa

The port is around 2-3 km from Piazza De Ferrari, and about 7 km from Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Reaching the port is straightforward:

• By car: you can reach the port from the A7, A10 and A12 roads, by following the signs for the port
• By train: the nearest station to the port is Genova Piazza Principe, which is about a 10-15 min walk or a short taxi ride away.
• By bus: local AMT buses connect the city center and main train stations with the port area, with frequent services throughout the day.
• By taxi: you can get to the port with a taxi in 10-15 min, from the city center and around 20–30 min from the airport.

Where does the ferry arrive in Tunis?

Ferries from Genoa normally dock at the port of La Goulette (Halq el Oued), which is the main passenger ferry port for Tunis. La Goulette is located about 10 km east of downtown Tunis and around 8 km from Tunis-Carthage International Airport.

In the area around the port, you will find cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as taxis, trains and light rail services to travel to the city center and beyond.
