There are 3 ports in Bali where you can catch a ferry to Gili Air: 

• Padang Bai: located on Bali's eastern coast, it's the most popular departure point, offering multiple daily fast boat services. The port area features ticket offices, cafés and basic amenities. It is particularly convenient if you are staying in areas like Candidasa, Amed, or Tulamben.
• Serangan: situated in southern Bali, it’s convenient for travelers staying in southern beach resorts such as Kuta, Seminyak and Legian.
• Sanur: ideal for those based in central or southern Bali, with several operators providing services to Gili Air.

Tip: each port is reachable by taxi or shuttle service, and for added convenience, several ferry companies provide hotel pickup options.

Where will the ferry arrive in Gili Air?

Ferries dock at the main harbor on Gili Air's southeast coast. The island is small and walkable, with most accommodations, dining options and beaches within a 10-15 min walk from the port. There are no motorized vehicles on the island, therefore the only ways to get around are by bicycle, foot or horse-drawn carts known as cidomos.
