The Thessaloniki - Cyclades ferry route is seasonal and it’s not in operation every year. The last time ferries from the port of Thessaloniki traveled to the islands of the Aegean Sea was back in 2018.
From 6 March 2021, you can catch the ferry from Thessaloniki to the Cyclades once again! The new route serviced by Blue Star Ferries connects Thessaloniki in Northern Greece with the islands of the North Aegean Sea (Lemnos, Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Fourni and Ikaria) and continues to Mykonos and Syros in the Cyclades.
Good to know: The new 2021 Thessaloniki - Cyclades ferry route is not the same with the one for 2018. Back in the day, ferries from Thessaloniki traveled on the following route: Skiathos - Andros - Syros - Tinos - Mykonos - Paros - Naxos - Santorini - Heraklion (Crete). There haven’t been any updates about the routes Thessaloniki - Sporades and Thessaloniki - Crete yet.

Ferry schedules from Thessaloniki to the Cyclades
Ferries from Thessaloniki to the islands of the Cyclades are in operation since 6 March 2021. The crossing is available once a week and it is serviced by Blue Star Ferries. The ferry departs from Thessaloniki every Saturday at 21:00.
It takes approximately 28.5 hours to reach Syros and Mykonos from Thessaloniki, but the journey duration varies depending on the final destination and the weather conditions. The Thessaloniki - Cyclades route is serviced by standard vessels with cabins, numbered seats and car decks.
Good to know: Ferry routes from the port of Thessaloniki to the islands of the North Aegean Sea and the Cyclades are scheduled to be in operation until 12 June, although we’re expecting that they either extend throughout the summer or start departing from the port of Kavala instead.
