You can get to the port city of Igoumenitsa by car, as well as the intercity bus from Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Patras, and Athens. It takes around 5 hr to travel from Athens to Igoumenitsa and 3.5 hr to get there from Thessaloniki.

How to get to the port of Igoumenitsa

• On foot: if you are in town, you can reach the passenger terminals in about 5-10 min by walking along the coastal road (Agion Apostolon).
• By bus (KTEL): the main intercity bus station (KTEL Thesprotias) is located very close to the port (approx. 500 meters), with frequent bus connections from Ioannina (1 hr), Preveza, and Athens (about 6-7 hr).
• By car: you can reach the port via the Egnatia Odos (A2) highway from Thessaloniki by following the signs Igoumenitsa, the Limenas (Port) and then the Domestic Lines entrance.
