Reaching La Gomera from Tenerife will take you about 50 minutes by ferry. The ferry companies that serve this route are Fred. Olsen Express and Naviera Armas operating several daily crossings. Ticket prices start at €35 and there are also discount tickets for residents of the Canary Islands.

La Gomera is one of the smallest islands of the archipelago, so it can be easily explored in a couple of days. The trip starts by taking the ferry from the port of Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenerife. Once you disembark in San Sebastian, you can visit the Torre del Conde park to see this historic building, and then head to Agulo to visit the Abrante viewpoint.

On Saturday, we recommend that you reserve plenty of time to explore the island's crown jewel, the Garajonay National Park. There are several hiking trails, so you can choose the one that best suits your level. Also, don’t forget to visit the Roque de Agando, one of the most striking volcanic formations of La Gomera that is nearby.

On the last day we recommend that you visit the natural monument of the Organs and then have lunch at the restaurant Las Rozas, where you can see a demonstration of the silbo gomero, the whistling language that is only used in La Gomera. You can also take some time to relax on the beach before taking the ferry back to Tenerife.

A weekend getaway in La Graciosa

La Graciosa has no airport, but don't worry, the ferry crossing from the port of Órzola in Lanzarote only takes 25 minutes. There are numerous daily departures, operated by the companies Líneas Romero and Biosfera Express and the tickets start at €15.

The smallest island of the archipelago, La Graciosa is an oasis of tranquility, the perfect destination for a weekend with good weather and maximum relaxation. The adventure begins on the ferry ride where you can contemplate the magnificent cliffs of Lanzarote from another perspective. When you arrive in Caleta de Sebo, we recommend you to visit this unique village with its white houses and unpaved streets.

Tip: it’s advisable to book your accommodation in advance because, especially during high season, apartments can be full.

On Saturday, you can visit the beaches in the south of the island, each one more beautiful than the next. Stroll along El Salado beach passing by La Francesa beach and finally reach Montaña Amarilla. This cove is ideal for snorkeling or diving amongst the marine fauna of the island, which is located within a reserve.

On Sunday, you can spend the day visiting the north side of the island, which is wilder but just as beautiful. You can rent bikes to get around, but be aware that sometimes the tracks are covered with sand. Alternatively, there are 4x4 tours that will take you to the best places.
