How to get to the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Tenerife is connected with the port of Huelva or Cadiz with regular weekly ferry crossings. Taking a ferry from mainland Spain to the Canary Islands is ideal if you want to transport your car, carry heavy luggage or travel with your pet. On the other hand, if you are already on a different Canary Island and want to participate in the Carnival of Tenerife, there are multiple ferry routes to the capital.

The Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is being held since the 16th century, while it was officially established in 1920 with occasional breaks. It is celebrated almost a month before Easter. This Carnival is one of the biggest in the world alongside the carnival of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil with spectacular, flashy costumes and parade floats.
