1. Can Carlitos

Located in the port of La Savina, Can Carlitos is a tapas and paella restaurant seeking the balance between traditional Spanish cuisine and modern cuisine with reinvented recipes. The vegetables used pass right from the garden onto the plate!

2. La Mariterranea

One of the most popular and quality Mediterranean restaurants in Formentera, La Mariterranea is located in Sant Ferran de Ses Roques. It specializes in Spanish gastronomy and offers a variety of seafood and meat dishes.

In La Mariterranea you will find traditional and creative paellas, as well as fideuá, which is similar to paella but made with pasta noodles instead of rice. There are also vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.

3. La Trastienda

Again in Sant Ferran de Ses Roques, La Trastienda is a Spanish restaurant often favored by locals, which is always a good sign. In this vintage restaurant you will find traditional dishes, like tapas, terrina de cordero (lamb terrine) and carrillera (pork/beef cheeks) and stuffed calamari, as well as tasty toasts, sandwiches and hot-dogs.

Don’t forget dessert! The La Trastienda coulant de chocolate (chocolate cake) and cheesecake are an absolute must.

4. Integral

In Es Pujols, you will find one of the few vegetarian/vegan restaurants on the island, named Integral. In this restaurant’s menu of the day you will find creative and tasty dishes, such as vegetarian tapas. Breakfast is also served in this restaurant.

Integral is a very affordable choice, with prices usually under €14 per person, where you can enjoy a very amiable atmosphere.

Tip: there is only one more vegetarian/vegan estaurant on the island, Blat Picat Bar de Vegetals, located in Sant Ferran de Ses Roques.

5. Casa Carmen

This restaurant in Es Pujols might not convince you at first sight, but this is the place to try some of the most tasty and large paellas and tapas on the island, accompanied by the most amazing sangria. We recommend you try the popular seafood paella and the Valencian arroz negro, a black-looking dish similar to paella cooked with squid ink.

6. Can Pepito

Located in Sant Fransesc Xavier, Can Pepito is an interesting French restaurant with a Mediterranean twist. You will find classic French dishes, like steak tartare and ratatouille, and more creative ones like galettes, non-gluten deconstructed crepes with vegetables, seafood or meat. There are also veggie options, e.g. crepes with tofu.

This restaurant stands out for its elegant style and romantic ambience, which is why it is perfect for couples. Prices are reasonable, so it’s also a value-for-money option in Formentera.

Tip: you should definitely check Can Pepito’s sophisticated drinks menu, with cocktails, tintos (Spanish wine), wines, and champagne.

7. 10.7

After a swim in Platja de Migjorn, there is no greater pleasure than a good meal by the sea. Not far from the beach, the 10.7 restaurant offers traditional Italian/Mediterranean dishes mixed with an Asian influence. It serves pasta, seafood and some of the best sushi on the island.

In the evening, the view of the sun setting behind Cap de Barbaria is breathtaking. 10.7 is also a great option if you want to celebrate a special event or wedding in Formentera. It is, however, a bit pricey because of its location.

Tip: to reach 10.7 by car, follow the Carretera de la Mola main road until you reach km 10.7, and then follow the sign to get to the beach and restaurant.

8. El Mirador

On your way back from your trip to the Far de la Mola lighthouse, dinner at the hillside restaurant of El Mirador (meaning “the viewpoint”) is a must. Halfway between Es Caló and El Pilar de la Mola, this place offers a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy a view of the Formentera sea and a spectacular sunset.

9. CanRibs Braseria

In Pilar de la Mola, you will find a hidden gem of a restaurant if you want to have some meat for a change. CanRibs Braseria serves a variety of meats grilled on volcanic stones in XXL plates. All plates are accompanied by salad and potatoes. If you are traveling with a group, we recommend you try the chuletón “vacum” madurado, a large ribeye steak matured for up to 60 days.

Casanita Cantina y Pescado is an Italian restaurant occupying a chalet-style building in Es Pujols. It has a traditional but relaxed atmosphere and offers creative seafood cuisine with roots in Italian cooking. You can choose among options à la carte, daily specials posted on the blackboard and the fresh fish of the day.

We strongly recommend you try the Iberian pork tagliata steak and the mousse with ricotta, biscotto and fig (figs and dry figs, xereques, are a Formentera delicacy).
