How to get to Lanzarote from the Canary Islands

Getting to Lanzarote from the rest of the Canaries by ferry is one of the easiest ways to reach the beautiful island. Read below everything you need to know about the most popular ferry connections and how long it takes to get to Lanzarote from nearby destinations.

Ferry from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote

There are at least 4-5 weekly ferry crossings from Gran Canaria to Lanzarote served by Trasmediterránea. The fastest ferry trip from the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to the port of Arrecife lasts around 6 hr 40 min to 10 hr. A standard ferry ticket for this itinerary usually costs €80 on average.

Note: you can find direct flights from the airport of Gran Canaria to that of Lanzarote. The trip with the plane lasts around 45 min.

Ferry from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote

The ferry connection between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote is rather popular and convenient as the two islands are close to each other. There are at least 10 daily ferry departures from the port of Corralejo in Fuerteventura to the port of Playa Blanca in the southern part of Lanzarote.

An alternative way of reaching Lanzarote is by catching a ferry from mainland Spain. You can find at least 2 weekly crossings from the ports of Huelva and Cádiz to Arrecife, served by Naviera Armas.

But how long is the ferry from mainland Spain to Lanzarote? The ride to Lanzarote usually lasts around 26-28 hr, whether you take the ferry from Huelva or Cádiz. There are also indirect ferry trips that stop at Gran Canaria and are longer in duration.
