1. If you plan to visit Ischia during peak season, we recommend you plan ahead. Book your ferry tickets well in advance, especially for your return trip!
2. Ischia has 3 ports: Ischia Porto, Forio and Casamicciola Terme. Make sure to choose the port of call that’s most convenient for reaching your accommodation.
3. As the largest of the Phlegraean Islands, Ischia offers plenty to explore. We recommend dedicating several days to your trip - or at least a long weekend - to fully experience its charm.
4. The most practical way to get around Ischia is by scooter. This allows you to avoid traffic and parking hassles, and enjoy the island’s scenic roads on 2 wheels.
5. If you’re planning to bring your vehicle on the ferry, you can do so from the ports of Naples and Pozzuoli. Note that residents of the Campania region are prohibited from disembarking and driving cars, motorbikes and scooters in Ischia from April to October. You can bring your vehicle onboard only on some ferries to Ischia departing from Naples and Pozzuoli. Alternatively, you can rent a car or scooter directly on the island.

Pets are welcome on most ferries for an additional fee. Small pets must travel in designated carriers, while medium and large pets are required to wear a muzzle and be on a leash.

Given the short duration of the trip, ferries to Ischia do not have cabins. Deck seating is usually included in the ticket price.

Ischia has 3 main ports: Ischia Porto, Casamicciola Terme and Forio, along with 2 smaller harbors, Lacco Ameno and Sant’Angelo, which are exclusively reserved for recreational boats.

Ischia Porto is the island's primary seaport, offering connections to Naples, Pozzuoli, Salerno, Monte di Procida, Procida, Capri, Amalfi, and Sorrento. It serves as the vibrant heart of the island, featuring an array of shops, the main bus terminal and numerous taxi stands.

Casamicciola Terme, located in the northern part of the island, is sheltered by 2 piers. Originally a commercial port, it now provides daily ferry connections to Naples, Pozzuoli and Procida. Its strategic location places you near some of Ischia's most famous thermal parks, perfect for relaxation and wellness.

Forio Port, situated on Ischia’s western side between the promontories of Punta Caruso and Punta Imperatore, accommodates small and medium-sized vessels. It also offers hydrofoil connections to and from Naples. The area around the port is well-equipped with shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, ATMs, restaurants, and hotels. Additionally, the stunning Chiaia Beach is just a short distance away, ideal for a quick escape to the sea.
