Ferry from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura

How much luggage can I bring on board?

Each ferry company has its own baggage allowance policy. Specifically:

• Naviera Armas and Trasmediterránea allow 60 kg in luggage or 4 items per person. It also offers trolleys to transport them.
• Líneas Romero allows up to 20 kg of carry-on luggage per person.
• With Fred. Olsen Express, you can carry up to 20 kg of luggage. There are also trolleys to transport your bags and lockers for €1. Keep in mind that you can only have 1 piece of luggage in the lounge in addition to your handbags, provided that it doesn't obstruct passageways or occupy any seats.

Traveling with pets

You can travel with your pet on the Lanzarote to Fuerteventura ferry, as long as you include it in your booking. As the crossing between Playa Blanca and Corralejo is short (25-35 min), the journey is usually low‑stress for pets.

Pet policies (fees, etc.) and facilities may vary depending on the company and vessel you're traveling with. Note that Fred Olsen Express normally supports pets traveling outside carriers if you book “Pet Sofa” or “Pet Rooms”.

Make sure to carry along your pet's passport and health certificates, a carrier or leash/muzzle, and any supplies you may need for your trip.

• The port of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote can get busy, so we recommend arriving at least 1.5 hr before boarding, especially if you are traveling with your vehicle.
• From Fuerteventura, you can easily travel to Lobos, a beautiful little island of the Canaries. The ferry ride from the port of Corralejo takes only 15 min.

Where to take the ferry from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura

You can take the ferry to Corralejo in Fuerteventura from the port of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. Playa Blanca is located in the south of Lanzarote, approximately 36 km from Arrecife and 30 km from Lanzarote Airport.

Playa Blanca can be reached by car, taxi or bus. The bus ride from Arrecife to Playa Blanca takes about 1 hr, while the journey lasts approximately 40 min by car.

Moreover, every Wednesday there's also a ferry departing to Puerto del Rosario from the port of Arrecife, on the eastern side of Lanzarote. The port is around 10 min on foot from the city center and just a few minutes by taxi or bus.

Where does the ferry arrive in Fuerteventura?

Ferries from Lanzarote mostly arrive in Corralejo, on the northern tip of Fuerteventura. From the port, you can easily reach the town center and continue your journey by bus or taxi. The port of Corralejo is approximately 26 km from Puerto del Rosario, the island capital, which is easily accessible by car or public transport (bus 6).

If you depart from the port of Arrecife in Lanzarote, you arrive at the port of Puerto del Rosario, which is the capital of Fuerteventura. From the port, he town centre of Puerto del Rosario is within walking distance or a short taxi/bus ride away.
